The Strong Man's Gospel

t
here is a Gospel being propagated in a large part of the church world which is a watered down, anemic version of the true Word of God. Where there is an attitude of 'pleasing men' rather than 'pleasing God' then we are going to see compromise and what is now being called 'user friendly churches'
e
ven the picture we have of Jesus does not even come close to reality. Instead of the shepherd figure with a lamb under His arm try Revelation Chapter 1 starting at verse 10 ….

10. I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, 11. Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: ……. 12. And I turned to see the voice that spake with me.  And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; 13. And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. 14. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; 15. And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. 16. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. 17. And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: 18. I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

his is the Jesus we serve - the King coming in clouds of glory to rule and to reign. Exodus 15:3 tells us that 'The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is His name' and He is raising up an army in these last days to tear down enemy strongholds and to defeat the adversary everywhere we find him. This is a people who will know their Lord and do exploits. Now the important thing in that last statement is not the doing of exploits but in knowing the Lord.
i
t is only through developing an intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ that we are going to get the strength to defeat the enemy. It is only as we submit to Him in the privacy of our prayer closet that we will have the ability to defeat the enemy in public.
g
od is looking for warriors who are not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, warriors who are prepared to face the enemy anywhere he can be found and will fight until they win. The ancient Spartans had the mindset when they went to war that they would either win or be carried home on their shields, dead. The Body of Christ, generally, does not have that attitude. We have to come to grips with who we are, whom we serve and who empowers us.
j
esus said in Acts 1:8 'But you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you'. The secret of the victorious life is the empowerment of the Holy Ghost.
'It is not by might nor by power but by My Spirit saith the Lord'.

e are called upon to lay hands on the sick and they shall recover; when we really come to terms with the fact that it is the power of the Holy Spirit within us, flowing out through us to meet the needs of a sick and dying world then we can say as Jesus did - it is no longer I that do it, but My Father within Me, He does the works.

or this cause you were manifested that, by the resurrection power of the Spirit within you, you would destroy all the works of the enemy.
